How often should my pet see a veterinarian?
Our veterinarians recommend an annual wellness exam for most adult pets. Senior pets should be seen every six months because they are more prone to developing health issues.
How much does a routine wellness exam cost at East Holland Veterinary Clinic?
The starting cost for a routine wellness exam is $88 for dogs and cats. This is a standard physical checkup with a veterinarian. Additional treatments, such as vaccines or diagnostics, are an additional cost. We also offer wellness plans to make budgeting easier.
What is microchipping your pet?
A microchip is a small device that can be inserted into your pet during any routine wellness visit, as well as a standard surgical procedure like a spay/neuter. Pet microchips have a specific ID number that will be registered with your contact information. If your pet ever gets lost, a veterinary clinic or animal shelter will be able to scan their microchip to start the process of getting you reconnected with your pet. The cost of microchipping your pet at East Holland Veterinary Clinic is $36.25, which includes the microchip and first year of registration.
Why is the vet recommending diagnostics if my pet seems healthy?
Our veterinarians recommend annual diagnostics for many pets to catch signs of health issues before symptoms appear. Treating issues sooner leads to better outcomes for your companion. A vet may recommend bloodwork, urinalysis, fecal test (parasites), or other screenings depending on your pet’s age, breed, and lifestyle.
Can your veterinary staff trim my pet’s nails?
Yes! We do offer nail trimming for cats and dogs. Dog nail trims start at $41 and feline nail trims start at $29. If you would like a pet nail trim during a wellness visit, just let our staff know.
