Most sessions are personalized one-on-one experiences, although occasional group classes are also available to strengthen social skills and manage distractions.

Classes for Dogs and Puppies
Our dog obedience training focuses on foundational skills that allow your pet to navigate everyday situations. Training sessions may include exercises like “leave it” and behavior management in distracted environments.
The sessions themselves are completely customized to your dog based on owner goals. Does your dog struggle to greet people appropriately? A session could include training around staying in place by the door, greeting manners, leash work, and recommendations for how to practice at home.

Each training session lasts between 60 and 90 minutes. There are 3-session and 5-session packages available. Packages reinforce progress through consistent, guided work.
Our Certified Dog Trainer
Manda is a Certified Dog Trainer and proud member of the International Association of Canine Professionals. She’s passionate about strengthening the relationship between pets and their families through training.
“I really love one-on-one training, focusing on the individual dog and their relationship with their human family,” says Manda. “Group classes can also be helpful for building focus around distractions and taking training to the next level.”
Her journey into training began in college while studying animal science. Though she didn’t land a coveted internship with a service dog organization, that opportunity lit a spark. She went on to complete a three-month, in-person program specializing in obedience and behavior modification, working hands-on with dozens of dogs under expert guidance.
Today, she brings that same energy and experience to every session, combining her background in veterinary medicine with a deep passion for training.

What age should I start training my puppy?
Training can begin as soon as your puppy comes home, starting with simple, age-appropriate skills and household routines. Early training can help your puppy learn how to communicate with you, build confidence, and develop good habits before unwanted behaviors become established. As your puppy grows, training can gradually progress to more challenging skills and working around distractions.
Do I need to practice with my dog between training sessions?
Yes. Consistent practice at home reinforces what you and your dog learn during professional training sessions. Short, regular practice sessions can often be incorporated into everyday activities such as walks, mealtimes, greeting visitors, or relaxing at home, and everyone in the household should try to use consistent cues and expectations.
How much does dog training at East Holland Veterinary Clinic cost?
A single session of dog training at East Holland Veterinary Clinic is $125. We also offer training packages. A 3-Session Package is $375 and a 5-Session Package is a discounted rate of $575.
Can I train anxiety or fearful behavior out of my dog?
Training can help some dogs build confidence and learn more comfortable ways to respond to situations that make them nervous. However, anxiety and fear can vary significantly in severity and cause. When should I talk to a veterinarian about my dog's behavior instead of only a trainer?
