East Holland Veterinary Clinic offers professional dog training and behavioral classes in Holland, MI led by our certified trainer, Manda. Most sessions are personalized one-on-one experiences, although occasional group classes are also available to strengthen social skills and manage distractions.
Whether your puppy is learning basic obedience or your dog needs to refine their manners, our goal is to help you build a calm, respectful relationship with your canine companion.
Classes for Dogs and Puppies
Our dog obedience training focuses on foundational skills that allow your pet to navigate everyday situations. Training sessions include exercises like place command, behavior management in distracted environments, and greeting people appropriately.
Each training session lasts between 60 and 90 minutes. There are 3-session and 5-session packages available. A session is $125, with a five-session package at a discounted rate of $575. Packages reinforce progress through consistent, guided work.

Session 1: Essentials Track
- Intro to Marker/Reward System

Session 2: Leash Manners I

- Engagement on Leash: walking drills in a low distraction environment
- Place “Proofing”: add mild distractions & build distance
Session 3: Real-Life Integration
- Doorway Manners: wait politely
- Greeting Practice: people, controlled setups
- Leash Manners II: practice around mild distractions
- Wrap-up Plan & Next Steps: continue place, leash skills, greeting refinement
Session 4: Household Harmony
- Leave It/Drop It
- Impulse Control Games
- Proof Place in Different Contexts: during meals, door knocks, mild chaos
Session 5: Polishing & Public Prep
- Advanced Leash Work: longer walks, passing people/dogs at a distance
- Calm Settle in Real-World Scenarios: bring a chair/bench into training area, practice hangout mode
- Graduation: review & personalize a maintenance plan
Our Certified Dog Trainer
Manda is a Certified Dog Trainer and proud member of the International Association of Canine Professionals. She’s passionate about strengthening the relationship between pets and their families through training.
“I really love one-on-one training, focusing on the individual dog and their relationship with their human family,” says Manda. “Group classes can also be helpful for building focus around distractions and taking training to the next level.”
Her journey into training began in college while studying animal science. Though she didn’t land a coveted internship with a service dog organization, that opportunity lit a spark. She went on to complete a three-month, in-person program specializing in obedience and behavior modification, working hands-on with dozens of dogs under expert guidance.
Today, she brings that same energy and experience to every session, combining her background in veterinary medicine with a deep passion for training.
